Being where the people are…
Our base is where the people are. Go out of the door, and you will find Italian bars, Turkish jewellers, clothing stores, gambling halls, and a homeless hang-out – all only a maximum of 50 metres from our house.
Here in the south of Karlsruhe is where most of our students and co-workers live. It is only a 5 minute bike ride from the station, state house, and city centre. The city itself is full of quaint cafés, parks, and cultural diversity. This exciting mixture of people and culture offers fascinating opportunities for conversation and interaction. All of that just outside our doorstep.
The lessons, prayer times, and special events all take place in the facilities of the “Treffpunkt Leben” church. Most of the students make their way there by bike, but there are also great train and bus connections.
Karlsruhe, a city with a vision…
Karlsruhe is a sun-drenched city with around 290,000 inhabitants. Over the years, many ministries and churches known beyond this region for their conferences and retreats have started and built-up their ministries here.
Annette (22): "Who doesn't like to be in the middle of a multicultural community?! I personally love it, and that is what you will experience in the southern part oft he city where we live. The practical focus of the school is already seen simply by the fact that it is not in the middle of nowhere, or on a 'Holy Mountain', but right where there are people who are in need, desperate, and searching for help."
